National EMS Week 2013 begins on Sunday, May 19th and runs through Saturday, May 25th.
On Wednesday, May 22nd we will be hosting a Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar Screening and Vial of Life Clinic, from 11:00 am through 1:00 pm, during the Groveton Senior Meals Program being held at the Groveton United Methodist Church in Carter Hall.
Also on Wednesday, May 22nd we will be hosting Practical Demonstrations, from 1:00 pm through 2:00 pm, for the students of the Stark Village School at the school.
On Thursday, May 23rd we will be hosting Practical Demonstrations, from 10:00 am through 11:00 pm, for the students of the Stratford Public School at the school.
On Friday, May 24th we will be hosting Practical Demonstrations, from 8:00 am through 9:00 am, for the students of the Groveton Elementary School at the school.
Also on Friday, May 24th we will be holding a Duck Race Fundraiser, from 5:00 pm through 6:00 pm, beginning at the Groveton Covered Bridge and ending at the "new" US Route 3 Bridge over the Upper Ammonoosuc River. The cost is $5.00 per duck/ticket. The winning duck/ticket holder wins $100.00.
Also on Friday, May 24th we will be hosting our annual Parade of Lights, from 7:00 pm through 7:30 pm. Line up is at Riverside Drive in Groveton and the endpoint if the old Emerson Outdoor Outfitters parking lot. All fire and EMS services from Coos County have been invited and we have received R.S.V.P.'s from several agencies!
Also on Friday, May 24th we will be hosting our 2nd annual Awards & Recognition Ceremony and Cookout, from 7:00 pm through 9:00 pm, being held at the small ballfield and recreation complex across from the Groveton High School. Awards for both the Parade of Lights and Groveton Ambulance Corps Unit Based Awards will be handed out. There will be hotdogs, hamburgers and other cookout favorites available for a minimal suggested donation. There will be a DJ providing music throughout the festivities. New this year is the addition of a "bouncy house" for the enjoyment of our younger guests.
